Q. Woman: We have several urgent items on today’s agenda. First of all, we have a major problem with our export shipment. It’s been held at Thai customs for a week. I have absolutely no idea what caused this. If we fail to get it back on track now, we can’t afford the daily charge. Any ideas? Man: Hmmm. That’s strange, Jenny. I’m sure it was included in the package with other documents. We do that stuff every day and it’s the first time we’ve had this kind of problem. I’m pretty sure it’s not us. It must be the shipping company. Woman: OK. Whatever the reason is, what’s important now is how we handle this from here. We have to fix it as soon as possible. Time is money. You go find some solutions and let’s discuss them over the phone.

Actuall,y I called the Thai office this morning to see what was going on. I found out that the dealy was caused by a missing important document, the certificate of origin. The shippong company somehow didn't file it in the documentation.

So, Here are my suggestions. First, We ask the Thai office to return our shipment. While it's on its way back, we ship everything out again. Those items are very popular now, so we can sell the items anythime. We can also mail the certificate of origin now, but even if it arrives tormorrow, everything has to be done again. Going through customs takes a long time. Additional, The shippong company will have to pay all the additional costs. And we sould find another company, as this is really a critical mistake in buiness.

 

I personally think the first option would be better because it takes less time. second option demands so much time and money. Maybe it will be take another four to five days if we get it started today. We are running short on time. It's now or never. Thanks.
